|Description: ||Josephine County Planning department is currently recruiting for a full time Code Enforcement Administrator. The Code Enforcement Administrator receives, investigates and processes building safety code and land use complaints. An employee in this classification is expected to be independently responsible for the coordination of code enforcement activities between the Building Safety, Planning and other County departments. Work is performed under the general direction of the Planning Director who review work primarily on the basis of results attained and for conformance to departmental goals, policies and procedures, as well as to state and federal regulations. |
Considerable knowledge of investigative procedures and techniques is required. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; interpret and apply building codes, planning and zoning ordinances and regulations and determine appropriate action for compliance; deal tactfully with the public in a positive and constructive manner; obtain information and evidence by observation and interview; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County departments and the general public.
Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field, and one year of experience performing work involving investigative and/or compliance responsibilities; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training. Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid Oregon Driver’s license; safe driving record.
