The Josephine County Legal Counsel's Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Legal Secretary. In addition to general secretarial responsibilities, duties include working with confidential information and complex filing systems, preparing pleadings and documents for civil litigation, comparing drafts of documents, gathering information, and composing letters.
Qualifications: Knowledge of legal terminology, judicial processes, law office procedures, legal forms and documents, English usage and grammar, and general office methods and procedures. Ability to work effectively as a team member, with a minimum of supervision, to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to interact professionally and courteously with the public and county officials. Requires high school graduation or equivalency, and two years' secretarial experience in a legal or judicial environment, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training. Tests will be given to ascertain applicants' skills.
