|Description: ||Josephine County is actively recruiting for an Assistant Park Ranger. This position is full time and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. The Assistant Park Ranger provides an important service to the maintenance and beautification of all Josephine County Parks. The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service skills and a strong team mentality. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
High school diploma or equivalency; and some experience in the construction and/or maintenance trades. Requires some experience in public relations, and the ability to work with difficult people in stressful situations. General knowledge of RV/day use park amenities preferred. Possession of or ability to obtain valid Oregon Commercial Driver’s License; safe driving record.
- Enforcing park fees and rules, writing citations and collecting user fees.
- Assisting Park Rangers with landscaping, carpentry duties on buildings, picnic shelters, playground equipment, electrical wiring, and irrigation controls.
- Performing minor mechanical repairs on machines, tools, lawn mowers, tractors and trucks.
- Provide direction and duty assignments to seasonal employees and other work crews.
