The Josephine County Board of Commissioners are currently accepting applications to fill vacancy(s) on the ILLINOIS VALLEY AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD

Position(s) open:  Four
Chamber Rep; Tenant/User; Economic Development Rep; Civic/Business

The purpose of the Advisory Boards shall be to advise the Josephine County Board of County Commissioners and Airport Manager on all matters affecting aviation and airport facilities.  These Boards meets monthly in the evenings.

Position(s) open:  Three
Veterinary, Dentist, Physician
  
The purpose of the Board of Health is to make recommendations to the Public Health Authority through the administrator of the Public Health Department for the development of an effective and efficient public health programs throughout Josephine County by receiving Public Health Staff reports and making appropriate recommendations and encouraging County citizens to present department program concerns to the Board of Health and to respond to issues being reviewed by the board.  The Board also makes suggestions regarding financial resources such as grants, fee income, general funds, etc.

The Josephine County Mental Health Advisory Board believes that all individuals have a right to access a full range of mental health services.  The Boards’ role is to help assess and represent the community’s mental health needs, and to facilitate and support the development and implementation of services to meet these.  The Board also strives to promote public awareness of the services provided by the County Mental Health Program and to promote community education regarding mental illness.  The Board is composed of representatives from several area agencies and the public.  Terms run for four years.

The LADPC actively supports the promotion of healthy families and community lifestyles by preventing and reducing alcohol and drug abuse.  Members believe that all individuals have the right to access an effective continuum of alcohol and drug prevention, intervention, and treatment services.  Collaborative community efforts will maximize the effectiveness of local resources.  The purpose of LADPC is to make Recommendations to the Board of Commissioners in matters pertaining to local alcohol and drug issues, funding and services.

The Advisory Committee is composed of up to nine members, each of which must be a resident of Josephine County.  The duties of the Special Transportation Advisory Committee are to advise the Board of Commissioners regarding the opportunities to coordinate Special Transportation Fund (STF) and Special Transportation Operating (STO) moneys and STF and STO funded projects with other transportation program and services to avoid duplication and gaps in service.

Position(s) open:  Two
Illinois Valley/City of Cave Junction Representative, Public at Large
 
The JHCDC administers the federally funded, Section 8 Tenant-Based Assistance programs for Josephine County.  Their purpose is to provide low-income residents with opportunities to obtain affordable housing and achieve self-sufficiency.  In general, the board members set the direction and tone of the JHCDC.  They give direction to the Executive Director, as necessary, and review situations brought to their attention.  The board is responsible for the decisions they make in their capacity as board members.  The Board reviews, sets and amends policies for general operation, reviews new programs and decides whether or not to apply for them, reviews regular program reports submitted by staff at monthly meetings, etc.  Applicants for these positions must not be nor have been a landlord, agent for a landlord or a relative of an agent/landlord of a participant who receives/d direct assistance from this housing authority in the past twelve (12) consecutive months from the date of application for the position you are applying.

The general duties and responsibilities of the trustees are recommend to the Board of County Commissioners expenditures from the Library Fund or the Public Library Fund; accept, use or expenditure of any real or personal property or funds donated to the Library; and be responsible for such other activities as the Board of County Commissioners may hereafter determine.

Health Care/Emergency Department Physician
 
The duties of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Board are to review and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners regarding all applications for assignment of Ambulance Service Areas, including initial license, amendment to a license, or renewal of license.  The Board is also responsible for providing ongoing input to the County from pre-hospital care consumers, care providers, ambulance service providers and the medical community in Josephine County.

The Josephine County Board of Commissioners are currently accepting applications to fill vacancy(s) on the JOSEPHINE COUNTY RURAL AREA PLANNING COMMISSION         
 
Position(s) open:  One
Alternate
 
The Commission consists of seven members. The members are all from different geographical areas within the County. No more than two members shall be engaged principally in the buying, selling, or developing of real estate for profit either as individuals or for a company or corporation. No more than two members shall be engaged in the same kind of occupation, business, trade or profession.  The Rural Area Planning Commission has final jurisdiction over land use matters as specified in County Law for the areas outside the Urban Growth Boundary.  The Commission also reviews and makes recommendations regarding zone changes, comprehensive plan map amendments and site specific changes.

The Josephine County Board of Commissioners are currently accepting applications to fill vacancy(s) on the JOSEPHINE COUNTY BIKEWAYS COMMITTEE
 
Position(s) open:  One
Representing the County
 
The Bikeways Committee consists of ten members. Five of the members must live within the City of Grants Pass and five of the members must live within the County. Grants Pass City Council will appoint five members and the Board of Commissioners will appoint five members.  Meetings are generally on the second Tuesday of every month at City Hall at noon. 
 
The Bikeways Committee works to implement the “Non-Motorized” chapter of the Master Transportation Plan by seeking input from the community. They also coordinate and disseminate information for public education about biking and walking routes and rules and serve as a resource and advisory group regarding bike and pedestrian trails for the City and County.

The Josephine County Board of Commissioners are currently accepting applications to fill vacancy(s) on the COLLABORATIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (CEDC)
 
Position(s) open:  One
Natural Resources and Agriculture
 
The Committee consists of 13 total members, with 5 appointed by the City of Grants Pass, 5 appointed by the County, 1 member appointed by Cave Junction, 1 member representing the Grants Pass and Josephine County Chamber of Commerce.  The CEDC is an advisory committee to the City of Grants Pass and to the Josephine County Board of Commissioners on matters pertaining to economic development and will be responsible for advising on and monitoring the implementation of economic development actions.  The CEDC is to promote cooperation in getting to agreement on how economic development actions should be implemented, and to monitor the implementation of those actions.
