Reporting Road Hazards
REPORTING HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS
IF THE CONDITION IS A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY SITUATION - CALL 911
The public is encouraged to report any unsafe conditions observed on county roadways. Downed trees, damaged pavement, bridges, guard rails, road obstructions, debris, missing signs, etc., should be reported as soon as possible.
The Josephine County Public Works Department is committed to provide 24 hour hazardous condition response involving the County's transportation network. Hazardous Conditions are defined as obstruction to traffic flow or hazards to people in roadways.
Examples of Hazardous Conditions: Stop sign down or missing Tree on roadway obstructing traffic Debris or material on roadway obstructing traffic flow Standing water obstructing traffic flow Dead deer obstructing traffic flow Pot hole or sink hole imposing significant traffic hazard
To Report A Hazardous Road Condition: During Normal Business Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Call (541) 474-5460 All other times including holidays, call Josephine County Sheriff's Office at (541) 474-5123 or 911
To Report A Non-Hazardous Road Condition: mailto:publicworks@co.josephine.or.us or (541) 474-5460. Examples of non-hazardous conditions are: Pot holes in road Road signs down or missing (STOP signs should be reported as a hazardous condition) Eroded shoulders Sight obstruction
When reporting a NON-HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITION (VIA MAIL), please include the following: Your Name Your address, including City, State and Zip Code Telephone number where you can be contacted A detailed description of the condition, including road name, nearest cross street and/or address. It is important that you include a contact number in the event more information is needed.
