Read to K9 Skip

In an effort to continue strengthening our community service in Josephine County, Sheriff Dave Daniel has instituted a program within Three Rivers School District allowing students to have a positive interaction with the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Konieczny and K9 Skip visit each elementary school within the county. This program is designed to allow students the opportunity to read to K9 Skip while creating a positive and fun interaction with the Sheriff’s Office. Students are able to ask questions regarding the use of K9’s in law enforcement while learning about Skip’s ability to detect odors. It is the purpose of this program to provide an educational and dynamic learning experience for the children of Josephine County while also increasing the time your Sheriff’s Office spends in the local schools. This program is in the beginning stages however, it has already received tremendous feedback and support from school staff and their students. The Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to expanding its presence in the community in many ways, this being one of them. Thank you to Deputy Konieczny and K9 Skip for their dedication and enthusiasm in this endeavor.
