JCIFP Committees
Josephine County Integrated Fire Plan has formed five committees to implement, sustain and monitor the JCIFP and other non-fire hazards. ·        JCIFP Emergency Management Board
The Emergency Management Board works on issues related to response, evacuation, incident command and multi-agency response for wildfire and other natural and man-made disasters. The EMB also acts as a liaison to the Josephine County Board of Commissioners on behalf of the JCIFP and convenes the JCIFP Committee chairs on a quarterly basis to ensure long-term coordination of the JCIFP.

·        Fuels Reduction and Risk Assessment Committee
The Fuels Reduction and Risk Assessment Committee identifies, prioritizes and implements hazardous fuels reduction projects on public and private land.

·        Education and Outreach Committee
The Education and Outreach Committee coordinates the annual Spring Campaign, "Wildfire: Are You Prepared?" and assists JCIFP partners in identifying and communicating public education and outreach objectives. This group also coordinates with the Jackson County Integrated Fire Plan Outreach and Education Committee and the Rogue Valley Fire Prevention Cooperative.

·        Stewardship Contracting Committee

The Josephine County Stewardship Committee is a diverse and committed group of local representatives using innovative authorities to restore forests and reduce hazardous fuels in Josephine County

·        Special Needs Committee

The Special Needs Committee works to ensure that the concerns of our community members with special needs, to include language barriers, are included in the planning and emergency response processes. Membership in this committee includes representation from government agencies, social service agencies, community groups and other partners.

 

Special needs are defined as: the need or needs of an individual that impacts their ability to independently carry out the activities of daily living such as mobility, cognitive or sensory impairment, mental health issues, or disaster-caused loss of prescription medication or durable medical equipment.
