Veterans Service Office
Josephine County
Mission Statement: We are committed to ensuring professionalism, sound advocacy, consistency, and protection for all veterans and their dependents seeking benefits and aid within our community.
Josephine County, determined to assist returning WWII veterans with their GI benefits, was the first county within the state of Oregon to establish a Veteran Service Office in 1944.
Veteran Service Officers counsel, advise and assist Veterans and their dependents in obtaining benefits provided for them by County, State and Federal Law. These representatives act as advocates and case managers for Veterans in need of such services.
The County VSO provides a local Outreach Program to several communities which include Cave Junction, Rogue River, Wolf Creek, as well as, Grants Pass nursing homes, care facilities, and housebound veterans.
As a veteran YOU may be eligible for certain benefits because of your military service. Survivors and dependents of veterans may also be entitled to benefits.
The laws pertaining to Veterans’ benefits are very complex; it is highly recommended you receive personal assistance from your local Veteran Service Officer in navigating through your claiming process.
