Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is currently staffed to provide 20 hours of patrol services each day. In October, 2008, the Congress enacted the "Troubled Asset Relief Program" (TARP) which included 4 years of funding to O&C counties such as Josephine County.
In addition to the TARP funding to the County, in the Spring of 2009, the Sheriff's Office applied for six additional 'Community Oriented Policing' deputies under the Federal COPS Grant Program. These positions, when funded, will serve the following communities:
- Cave Junction (1 Deputy)
- Illinois Valley (1 Deputy)
- Williams/Murphy (1 Deputy)
- Merlin/North Valley (1 Deputy)
- Senior & Child Abuse-Neglect (1 Deputy)
- School Resource Deputy (1 Deputy)

(Please note, these positions were not funded in the first round of COPS Grants, however, the Sheriff's Office was informed by the Department of Justice that we were eligible for funding in round 2. We are currently awaiting notification.)
