Proposed BLM & Park Land Trade
What you can expect to find on this page:
A full list of proposed properties.
A short description of each of the properties, as well as a reasoning for the proposal.
Maps clearly showing the outline of each property, as well as current ownership.
An online contact form for you to easily submit comments electronically.
Date(s) for public meetings where information will be shared from the County and you can make comments directly to the County.
Please understand in reviewing this information:
All listed properties are NOT set in stone, but rather a proposal to create continuous and improved management of areas, as well as possible future development on selected properties.
The Parks Department does NOT intend to immediately develop any properties, but to secure them for the future; the current focus is on renovating all existing Parks. Any future development visions would have extensive public involvement.
The County wants to hear public feedback and will consider all comments to ensure that decisions are in the best interest of everyone who resides in the County.

Updates after first Public Hearing:
Properties will be split prior to transfer (instead of after the transfer as originally discussed), this means full tax lots are no longer outlined in the maps. Example: 2.66 acres is being sought next to Ennis Riffle, instead of the full tax lot of 144.8 (where the majority of acres are across the road and on the hillside.)
Properties no longer being discussed for transfer include:
Provolt Seed Orchard
Sprague Seed Orchard
A miscellaneous 20 acre parcel near Pinecone in Cave Junction (R331519)
Hog Creek's future managment is now proposed to be BLM (one parcel proposed to transfer to BLM, instead of three parcels to County.)
